I have a quad 7970 Rig that I just built, and trying to figure out what screen to get. I seen this setup on a projector website, and liked the look. I play FPS with lots of action on screen. Would a setup a screen this size be ok with my Rig?

I have never ran a projector, and just trying to get some help to figure out what to get.

Thanks

Heres a pic of my computer, not done yet, watercooling next...
It lights up blue, I need to get a good pic still but blue is so bright on my phone the light bleeds through, so pic is of it off...

I don't know that much I'm afraid, and you'd probably be best to post more details about your pc spec. Even then it would be variable due to which game and which resolution/detail level you're using etc.

But, what I can say, is that a projector is just like a monitor, in that if you can run 1080p resolution on a monitor ok then it'd be exactly the same on a projector, the fact that it's a PJ doesn't make it lag. So maybe it's worth testing the resolution you want on monitors first, then you can be pretty sure that it'll be ok on PJ's.

Projector, tv or monitor dosent make much difference. Only thing to check is the response time (latency). Under 15ms is ok, but ideally it should be under 5 if possible.

Projector screens do not "lag". I suppose some projectors include image processing elements that could insert a delay in the video signal between your PC and the screen. If you're really concerned about timely screen updates then you should be looking at 120Hz projectors. These top out in resolution at 1280x800 unless you're willing to spend upwards of $30k per projector which would buy you 1920x1200.

Anyway, I can heartily recommend the setup I'm running. 3 Optoma GT720 projectors in landscape Eyefinity. 3840x800 @ 120Hz ... perfect for competitive FPS. You also absolutely do not need 3 7970s to run that setup either.

Don t worry it will be fine with we run 3 projectors on a single 6950 card that has 6 dp outputs and all games and sims are fine at 5760 x 1080.
