Been bugging me for a while. Most new monitors have HDMI and Display Port Inputs, yet all the latest graphics cards appear to have only DVI's and one Display Port (or/and 1x HDMI) output. Why are they not making the cards with 3 HDMI or 3 Display port outputs ? Hate having to use adapters to make it all work on Triple-Monitor setups (which appears to be current dominant gaming setup) Is it a technical thing ? Thanks if anyone can offer a tech reason..

Hi and :welcome

As far as I know there is no technical reason to not have 3 x HDMI or 3x DP. Nine out of ten people will just use one monitor though. Graphic cards makers choose a mix of outputs to ensure better compatibility.

There are a few special cards extra for Multi Monitor usage.
But most people only have 1-2 Monitors.

My EVGA GTX980s each have three DisplayPort connections.

While having the convenience of three DisplayPort ports, you can get a hub to run multiple monitors off one port. I know Skip has looked at Club3D DP Hubs. I also know of people who have other ones that so the same thing. That may be one reason behind the manufacturer's design choice.
