I currently have a Z68 motherboard that is PCI-E 2.0 ( up to X8/X8).
I have 2 AMD 7950 3GB (1100core 1575memory).

So when running Alan Wake one GPU is 99% the other is 80%(?!?!)
My fps is 44fps and CPU is nowhere near it's full load.

My resolution is 5760*1080....

:( :Sp :( :Sp

i'd say no: http://www.hardocp.com/article/2012/07/18/pci_express_20_vs_30_gpu_gaming_performance_review/6

But strange thing is... IIRC both of my GPU's always had the exact same Load percentage.

oh... sure that BOTH GPU's run at 1100mhz ? I remember when i set clock while 2nd card was in deep sleep mode it still clocked in original mhz. so that would explain the different load.

Well yeah, and the other thing is... does alan wake have proper CF support? happens sometimes that you have GPU Load on both Cards but don't gain any FPS single vs CF.

Thanks for youre reply Haldi

I'm pretty sure that both are running at 1100/1575, one card needs 1168mv while other needs 1250mv, they are exact same brand but I really doubt voltage could make any difference.

In Crysis2 there are moments when I have 99% on both GPU's.

Maybe It's a badly optimized game?
Or AMD drivers?

I came to replay Alan Wake a week or two ago, but it doesn't seem to be getting on with newer AMD drivers. Where I had super smooth gameplay on top settings in surround before, I now have a pretty unplayable framerate. Could be an isolated issue for me, but I'd consider leaving Alan Wake in the "anomaly" pile and testing a few other games. Oh, and this is just with a single 5870 btw, no crossfire.

You shouldn't be bottle necked at all from the pci-e lanes. Have you tried the latest CAPs?
