Post subject: | Third monitor issue |
Hi there, my setup is as follows: XFX HD 5970 (2 dvi + 1 display port), three asus displays 24". Two of them are connected through dvi ports, the other via an XFX active adapter (display port to dvi). Issue being that at times, no matter which monitor I connect to it, the adapter cable causes it to momentarily switch off (it's not actually off, neither it's going in sleep mode, it just goes to black screen and 2 or 3 seconds later comes back to its senses). What's worrisome to me is this: is the adapter to blame for it all or is my video card having a hard time on the display port? Any other info required to find out what's wrong? |

its common unless it happens a lot dont worry about it To be honest not a single session goes by without it happening at least twice. Sometimes 30 minutes away, once 5 times one after the other. I'd just like to know what's the reason for it, it's okay if it's common, but I'd like to understand it anyway. You positive it's not the adapter and changing it would solve to problem? |

it happens to me from time to time too... howewer only when my monitors are turned off (by a screensaver). To turn the DP monitor on i need to move the mouse pointer to this monitor - then it turns bak on on its own. |
