it's a dell xps, with a q9450 2.66ghz, 4gb ram, radeon 5870 1gb, 980w psu.
the gpu is 2 years old and i've never cleaned it up, so maybe that's the issue,
as it starts stuttering after 40 minutes in the game (i'm playing iracing).
problem is that i don't know if it's possible or easy to open it up and clean it.
if you think that's the case, is there any tutorial for that?
thanks!
The best and easiest way to clean up the inside of a PC, and the components, is to use canned compressed air. If it's been two years since it was last cleaned, you'll likely want to take the entire case outdoors to do this as there is a GREAT chance that there is a LOT of dust inside the case. For the GPU, just remove it from the slot and blow where you see the dust. Do this where there are fans but don't put the nozzle too close to the fan...just close enough to get the dust off. If you see any dust that doesn't want to break loose easily, use a very, very soft brush....like an artist's brush...to loosen the dust and then use the air to remove it.
