According to the release notes of the 10.9 WHQL, there are some important things to consider: Important ! Caution !
http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/AMDCatalyst119ReleaseNotes.aspx Make sure you have SP1 on windows 7 and have installed the .net updates (CLI.implementaion error can be a .net error). Post subject: | I don't know if this will |
I don't know if this will work for anyone else who has gotten bluescreens when updating AMD drivers, but here's a procedure that's kept it from happening to me lately: 1. Uninstall Catalyst Control Center using Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel. 2. Uninstall the display drivers from the Device Manager. If prompted, choose to delete the driver files. 3. Reboot in Safe Mode. 4. Run Driver Sweeper and remove all ATI/AMD files detected. 5. Reboot back to normal Windows. 6. Install the new drivers. 7. Restart. If I deviate from those steps, I tend to get BSoDs after updating drivers. But, jumping through those hoops each time keeps things stable. |

Post subject: | Performance in Battlefield 3 |
Hey guys, Even with the latest preview drivers and Crossfire application profiles for Battlefield 3, it doesn't appear to play well with Crossfire + Eyefinity. With Crossfire + Eyefinity, I get massive stuttering, frame drops, and poor mouse response even on the lowest settings. Disabling Crossfire clears it right up and I can run on 1 X 5870 with a mixture of medium and high settings with no anti-aliasing at 6000x1080. Here's hoping AMD and DICE sort out the Crossfire and Eyefinity performance issues. *Edit: Per @catalystcreator, they are aware of the issue. Roll back to version 11.9 cap 2 instead of 11.9 cap 3 if you're having issues with Crossfire stuttering/framerate. My performance is way better with 11.9 cap 2 with crossfire enabled. |

Thanks, Tamlin. Confirmed that the CAP4s solved my stuttering/poor performance in Crossfire seen under CAP3s. |

Hrm. Well I gave it a go. Upgrading from 5x1P 11.8 preview. That was my 5x1P experience as well. BSODs from bloody hell on both 11.10 previews. However I tried Bifurk8's method in this thread and am now in using 11.10p3 drivers nicely with no BSOD. Running BF3 very nicely, mostly high at 5250x1920 tri-fire. Man it's a sick game. |

http://www.anandtech.com/show/5033/amd-releases-catalyst-1110-driver-package "The full release notes don't mention the Battlefield 3-related enhancements highlighted in the 11.10 beta release, but five-display Eyefinity configurations (of a maximum resolution of up to 16000 x 16000 pixels) are now supported, and a new "bezel compensation" feature can adjust for displays with different pixel densities." Does that mean BC can be used with mixed monitors? |
