Post subject:  My first eyefinity set-up - Wrong resolutions on start-up

Hi all just got me my first eyefinity set-up comprising of 3x 22 inch dell's and an HD 6770, loving the set-up so far but I do have one problem, whenever I first boot into windows the resolutions layouts etc are o.k but midway through typing my login password the all change and the resolution and layouts become all messed up, different on each screen. I then have to use the hotkeys I set up in CCC to switch it back, I have two presets stored one for eyefinty and then 1 for just 3 monitors at 1920x1080.

On start-up it seems to be going for a mystery third option and I can't see why, any ideas?

Post subject:  Delete your presets Disable

  1. Delete your presets

  2. Disable your eyefinity setup, leave your extra monitors as clones

  3. Restart your PC

  4. Login and setup your eyefinity configuration again

  5. Save your new profile

  6. Restart again

If you still have issues, perform steps 1 and 2 again, then:

  1. Uninstall all ATI drivers, including the CCC installer

  2. Delete the folder C:/ATI (might be C:/AMD can't remember off hand)

  3. Restart

  4. Install and run Driver Sweeper

  5. Restart again

  6. Download the latest drivers, and install them

  7. Go back to step 3 of the first list

Not knowing what o/s your running, I had problems with my ccc on W7.

I am using the 5870 E6, and read that if you disable your eyefinity group, and delete all your presets, then go to the normal windows resolution set up in control panel , extend the desktop to each of the monitors then reboot.
Theoretically you should have then when you boot up a cloned desktop across all monitors, now roll back your ccc driver, , reboot
Now open ccc and set up your eyefinity config and save as a preset.
close ccc, and reboot.

This process for me worked across all of my six displays but only after using the windows resolution and extending all the monitors first then using ccc to set up your eyefinty .

I was using different display sizes at the time (3x22,2x19 1 x 21.5, and had to set every display to the same resolution of 1440x900 first then that way it was easier for eyefinity.

hope you get it sorted
