So My next few months goal is to get 5x1p, Currently there are only 3 cards that support it. 5870 E6, xfx 5970 e6, and the 6990.

So in Realistic terms the 5870s (250 a pop) seem like the best option for a Moderate gamer playing the Crysis Series, NFS, and Dragon Age. Before i buy i would like to know some pros and Cons of the 5870s. I will be running them on the Displayport cables so Shuttering/Tearing should not be an issue, and i am well aware of the scaling issues as well.

I am currently running 3x1 on dell U23's on 460s and they cant quite keep up, and after doing some research it seems that the 5870s are only a few FPS below the current 6950s on performance.

If there is any other info you need to know just ask.

Thanks in advance for all the Info!!

If you don't need the DisplayPort 1.2 support, that the 6k card series has support for, then go with 5870 e6, but beware that the card might be to slow for some games. 5x1 is a VERY huge resolution.

I am well aware of the possible slowness at 5x1, and for someone like me it is no worry after doing more research it seems these cards are Still VERY powerful, Crysis at 5x1 will be iffy however.

Thanks!!

Adapter tearing is commonplace. I just take it for granted and tune it out anymore. As I run all my ports out as active adapters at least it's uniform tearing on all screens for my 5x1P.

I suppose I could run it through a few benches of Crysis. It might be a few days though before I get around to it.
