Hey !

Can I run 5870 CF EF without the DP adapter ? all from the dvi on the cards ?

Another often asked question on this forum, no you cannot do this. You can use two 5870 in CF, but one card will have all monitors plugged into it. DP + DVI + DVI tends to be the favored setup, and some of us, a brave few, use adapters (DP->VGA or DVI), but they're off and on. Mine works 98% of the time but even still has the occasional flash or problem.
