Just curious what this is and why I get this every once in a while. For some reason BFBC2 has been crashing here and there. At least once a day for me. It just locks up everything. And I get vertical brown and grey lines on two of my monitors but not all 3. Thought maybe eyefinity causing the game to crash every once in a while. Probably just the game because it seems pretty buggy still but. What about the ati blue screen. I was in BC2 and it just locked up but I could still hear all the other sounds just fine. Then I got the vertical brown and grey greenish lines. And then errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr sound. Had to hard reboot. |

Am I really the only one that has got this before. I have googled this and the only thing I find is a video card/driver but no reasons or why. Seriously does anyone know anything about this or know anyone that would? |

Well, in the BETA I had it crash to desktop once, but that was the only problem I had, sorry. |

I find it interesting that with all the ATI people here and even the ATI reps have nothing to say about this. A quick google search shows this has been a common problem with ATI drivers for some time now. |

Sounds like your overheating dude. Are you overclocking? What's your fan speed set at? Deke |

Sounds like your overheating dude. No OC on cards, and my temps while playing BC2 right after crash were 36C on CPU and 62C on GPU. I have not messed with fan speed so assuming it is set to auto I know at idle right now it is @ 23% and I have seen it go to 30%. |

Ah so you are using Auto Fan. Have to tell you, unless your sitting in a room that's at 50 Degrees F, your going to have issues when running eyefinity in games using only the auto fan setup. All you have to do is put it at 80% and try your game for a few hours and see if you crash. I normally run my fan at 40% to 50% while gaming in Eyefinity, sometimes I have seen it at 40%, but never at 50%, all depends on how many pixels your pushing, and now with bezel compensation it's even more. Cause I have seen my HD5870 card crash while in L4D2 when I forgot to turn the fan up and the temp was just over 60C on the GPU . Deke |

Ah so you are using Auto Fan. Well I guess you have to pick and choose then because with the previous drivers even if I unlocked the ATI overdrive it would then cause horrible tearing issues just on desktop normal tasks. If the drivers were developed properlly then AUTO should work. Maybe they should update the speeds and when they raise based on the temps but anyway I am not going to do that because last time I even tried to do that again just unlocking overdrive caused issues. |

I have to ask, are you using some other type of Overdrive software other then just CCC? I have heard of others using things like Afterburner and then trying to use Overdrive in CCC and had problems because the two were conflicting each other. Deke |
