3rd pic shows the card having 2x 8pin PCI-E power connectors, very interesting. |

Only one DVI port? Means that multiscreening will require either different displays or adapters, even when you only have two displays. Still, 'tis probably an impressive card ;) |

Well this is a nice surprise, i was expecting the 6 output card, not this. It's a beautiful card i must say. I bet the 3x2560x1600 setups are going to want this. |

It looks like it has (1) DVI and (1) HDMI in addition to the displayport. So it would seem we're in exactly the same position we are now with the current 5700 and 5800 series cards. |

OK, noobie question, as I am scrambling to get familiar with all the new tech after being out for a few years. I have a 5970/Eyefinity setup, and have been on the fence about what to crossfire (tri fire I guess) with it. With my 5970 at 5870 clocks, would the 2GB 5870 be worth it? I could REALLY use the extra RAM for the extreme EYE resolutions, yes? Or am I missing something with the way crossfire/trifire handles things? |

Not exactly. with a current card you can have your 3display group and a tv connected to the card. so to watch a movie on the big screen you could disable one of your 3 screens and turn hdmi on. Not possible without annoying replugging on this 2gb card :( |

Because you WONT get any extra VRAM. 5970 has 1 GB per Core, meaning it has a 2x1GB VRAM setup, where as this card and a 1x2GB VRAM setup. But in crossfire, you'll be limited to 1GB percore, because all information is copied to each cores RAM, meaning no more that 1GB of information will be on any core. |
