So does it work yet? Are there beta drivers out? Is there an ETA? I want to buy 5870 CF or 5850 CF but can't decide if there will be any point to do it now if there's no EF support.. I could just buy one and get a second one later when the price drops.

With Eyefinity being already so popular and Crossfire scaling so well, no doubt they're working *hard* on it...

Well I have a 4870 X2 right now and the benchmarks I've seen indicate it's as good or better as a 5870.. so until there is a 5870 CF (or X2 as the 5970 they're calling it?) with EF there's just no point to upgrade.

Like you im waiting for the 5970 six (hurry up already!). 5870 and 5850 are still going to be a great upgrade. Anything that supports DX11 gets a huge speed boost and those 2 cards will out perform the poor old 4870X2.

I doubt its going to be any time soon, Alienbabeltech recently managed to get there hands on some bench numbers and photos of the still prototype 5970.. With the low yield still on 40nm im guessing it could be a while :S

Me thinks when they have the card and technology up I will CF my 5870 with the Eyefinity 6.

(Soon, I will be getting 2 Dell2410's... so 3 display ports)

as soon as they get it working with CF, I'm going to get rid of the 5x 19"(4:3) monitors I have, with what I get buy 2x 5870, then try and find a leprechaun to steal his pot o gold to buy 2x more 21"(16:9). might also try and hock the 2x 4670's I have. might mean I don't have to steal too much from the leprechaun...

5x 10:16 = 50:16 = 25:8
too many bezels for my taste

to get 5 displays working in eyefinity you will have to wait for the 6port card, CF with 2 3ports wont help
