Apple mini-DP to DVI dual link, it is the only one actually available in NZ... and the 5970 is mini-DP anyway. It is temperamental but a pulling out of the USB and plugging it back in sorts my probs (like that mon being stuck at 1600x1200, the 2 others being proper 1920x1200) |

I went ahead and ordered 3 dell 24" monitors with DP. I would rather have something future proof and guaranteed to work. |

Update: 11-29-09 This is still happening :( Latest Drivers Latest Motherboard Bios *See sig for specs* I will let you know what happens next...I just swapped out cables and put the eyefinity monitor in the middle vs far left. |

Swapping is a good idea. BTW you (very accurate) sig needs to be changed. You need to keep it simple on this site Use this block of text to display your system specs. There is a 512 character limit. Please no images. It takes a bit of work to fit it all in LOL |

OK, I've tested this for two days now and at least for me it works. A few days ago I added the "HypraVision" app for CCC. After being up for 3 hour with all the monitors running the flickering has stopped and I was able to play all my games with out any problems. I though whoa it working now. :P Well I turned the rig on today and waited to see if the flickering came back and it did so I did the same thing and kept all three monitors up despite the flickering on the DP screen. Sure enough a few hour later the flickering was gone. I don't think The addition of the HypraVision app did anything but you can try it. Specs: CPU: Intel i7 920 MB: Asus Rampage II Extreme (Latest Bios) RAM: Corsair Dominator GT GPU: XFX Radeon HD 5870 (Cat. 9.11) Optical Drive: Pioneer BDC-2202B Blu-Ray HD (1) Primary: Western Digital VelciRaptor 300GB HD (2) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 1TB (x3) Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatality PSU: PC Power & Cooling, SILENCER 910 OS: Windows 7 Home 64Bit Monitors: Samsung 245T 24" (X3 with DP to DVI Active converter) |

And if DP gets scrapped for the next 'shiny new spec'? Then I still have HDMI, DVI, and VGA ports. I will cross that bridge when I get to it. Thanks to ebay, these new monitors are going to cost me nothing additional out of pocket. |

FWIW I also started to get this happening with my setup occasionally and I am using a DisplayAdaptor -> VGA adaptor. Usually I need to unpug the adaptor and the plug it in again for the monitor to start showing something, but sometimes even that doesnt work and I need to reboot, and then unplug/plugin. I think it is a driver issue as I can go for ages without it happening. But very odd. as it only started happening in the last few days, and nothing on my system has changed. |
