I have the same issues running 2 5970's and eyefinity,10.1 works best, for what it's worth...
At amdgame forum there are a few others suffering from QuadCF as well.Let's all stay positive and hope Ati will fix it!

You mean that 2x5870 e6 run eyefinity with no stuttering at all????

I didn't see any stuttering.

I only have one 5970 and I think mine is pretty smooth. My second machine has a 280gtx in it. A single card will almost always be a little smoother but I do not think it is the end of the world. I am enjoying my 5970.

10.4 official cats are supposed to address this issue according to some sources....lets see eh, fingers crossed.

@ Ibrin, go run STALKER COP benchmark under max settings with eyefinity and then come back and tell us you don't experience any sttttttttttuttering while running sub 5 fps :nudgenudge

I just got my second 5970 and have the same issue, framerate is cut in half and stuttering gameplay when crossfire is enabled.
tried complete windows reinstall and latest and past drivers without sucess.
currently dealing with ati support, but not keeping my fingers crossed.

No "quadfire +Eyefinity" support in 10.4 driver, neither in the 10.5 beta that can be found on ati unofficial sites :(

did some experiments.
on single display @ 1920x1200 all is fine, 120 fps on bc2 with everything maxxed to the hilt, 200 fps+ with crossfire enabled, so working ok on a single display , but we already know that.

With eyefinity @ 6000x1200 50 to 60 fps with crossfire disabled, 30 fps and stuttering crossfire enabled. again this is what people are seeing.

but with eyefinity @ 5040 x 1050, 70 fps with crossfire disabled, but only 2 or 3 fps slide show with crossfire enabled.

This would seem to seem that the bandwidth of the crossfire bridge isnt the main issue as the framerates get way worse with lower eyefinity resolutions.
Can other try running at lower resolutions such as 3084x 768 etc to verify this??

Is the crossfire eyefinity problem primarily affecting 2x 5970's only? I have a friend who was looking into putting together a mid range system with 2x 5770's in crossfire. He is also interested in Eyefinity. Should he just go with a 5850 instead?

Thanks for your time.

The crossfire+eyefinity issues primarily concern trifire/quadfire setups.

Check this out:

Good luck.
