Still on topic but a bit different is that 720p @ 120hz works on the PowerColor active mini displayport to single-link DVI-D adapters. Apparently the bandwidth for 720p @ 120hz is small enough to use single link active adapters. I plugged in one of my Optoma GT720's the other day to my E6 card via an active adapter and it locked 1280x720 @ 120hz just fine. I'm sure that information would be helpful to some that read this thread.

Keep in mind that over 720p these won't have enough bandwidth for 120hz.

You can see how far you can push different video input standards using this bandwidth calculator. It's a pretty useful app actually.
