[quote][quote]For what it's worth, my 5870 E6 cards in CFX work just fine. I have them connected with two CFX links. Maybe that is solving the bandwidth issue.

I'm willing to try anything ... I just attached a 2nd CFX link, I'll try firing up CFX on BC2 again @ 3x30".
What cards are you running, two 5870's?
Yup, 2 5870s ... attaching the 2nd CF link didn't do much, had to revert back to a single 5870 and BC2 was playable again.

On the Rage3D forums one of the beta testers hinted toward a possible fix for 5970 + 5970 quad fire eyefinity and 5970 + 5870 tri fire eyefinity in the 10.4 drivers, lets see what happens there eh. Great if true but.........

With 2x5870s most games suck. stuttering everywhere.

Sorry but I can't see how tri/quadfire will work... Maybe 2x470/480 fix the stuttering.

Not everyone is having this stuttering experience.

I have seen in my own eyes in two different setups, all running i7s and 5970s. The same issue.

Maybe you mean that many people don't see it because the played games in consoles at 40fps and have never experienced gaming at 60fps.

i believe you on the 5970's. your last post (before mine) said 5870+5870. My 5870 E6's run fine in CFX - and I know gaming at 60+ fps...

You mean that 2x5870 e6 run eyefinity with no stuttering at all???? Because I see stuttering in 2x5870's and also with single 5970. Generally I see stuttering in crossfire, while with single card everything run smooth with a little cut down.

Also tried 3x5870s, 2x5970s which are unplayable.... Constant 20fps.

I have 3x5870s and I only use a single one.... Everything else like (crossfire, trifire) is not smooth.

I'm in the same boat (just finished building my system with dual 5970's....epic fail) Do you have a link to this discussion, or even better to the beta driver?

Hey there,

I believe the post you are looking for is :

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33961074&page=2

ie, cave_man jim's posts. Is the "nudge nudge wink wink" supposed to be confirmation?lol

If you look at the 10.5 beta posts, there doesn't seem to be any indication of a fix.

Also, what do you make of this? :

http://www.rage3d.com/reviews/video/ati_hd5870_eyefinity6/

On page 2, it reads :

The recent Catalyst architecture update (Catalyst 10.2) also introduced support for Eyefinity in a CrossfireX configuration, other than the Radeon HD 5970. All displays must be connected to the primary rendering card - it doesn't look likely that multi-card output will be ever enabled, and AMD's showcased Linux 24-display Eyefinity is unfortunately shelved.

Sorry if I interpreted this wrong, but IF this is true, my suspicions are correct. It's been put in the "too hard" basket.
