Hi there,

I am having issues running 9.12 hotfix! I thought eyefinity was supported in crossfire, so i got me a second 5970.
When i enable ef when in quadcf, performance is bad, really bad. i have no problems running 1 monitor.Vantage scores 34k, fps in dirt 2 in qcf go down to 20ish with major stutter. When i disable cf,and run 2 Gpu's all is well again. So for now i have a 600 euro Videocard sitting in my computer collecting dust....
Has anyone got about the same setup,5970 quad crossfire running Eyefinity, or am i the only one having a useless extra heater?

Same issue here with everything I've tried, when quadfire is enabled framerate drops through the floor. Seems to be a driver limitation, hopefully the next Cat's will give quadfire eyefinity some love! There are some others on the AMD forums who have seen the same exact thing.

Installed the hotfix. Got Eyefinity and Crossfire enabled on two XFX 5870s. Things seems stable and runs well!

I believe you have to have them in sets of three. So either 3 or 6 monitors to create eyefinity groups. The 4th top monitor is hooked up to my Xbox 360. :P

perfect desk for those displays. :)

Thanks! I love this desk for the computer. I have had this corner piece of the desk that I got from like the Sears "Home" store for about 10 years now. I have the two 6 foot side pieces, but this corner piece holds everything well.

Ive just got myself another 5870 and running the 9.12 hotfix the 2nd 5870 is coming up but under ATI overdrive its showing the GPU clock as 000Mhz and Memory Clock as 000Mhz and showing no tempreture is that correct?

Also can anyone confim if there are any current games at the moment that use both crossfie with eyefinity so that i can at least test that the card is working?

Thats the new power mode kicking in. At the desktop its putting the second card into a sleep state to save power, hence it reports 0 clocks; it wakes up when a game is being used.

Try Crysis, Far Cry 2, HAWX, stuff like that to see if there is scaling.

Dave, is there some kind of background, low level power saving feature going on, even in single card configs? Occasionally I need to boot my system into the BIOS and let it sit overnight for SSD maint. (shutting the monitors off manually), and in the morning when I come back and power up the monitors, none of the three screens will come on (they all go immediately into their sleep state). The only way to get them to come on at that point is to cold boot the system.

(Asus 5850)

Sidenote: Is there a means to disable all this new 5000-series power-saving stuff in the drivers? Should there be?

Same problem here with 5970 + 5870 and cfx-eyefinity. With just the 5970 and eyefinity things seem okay but enable cfx with the 5870 for tri-fi eyefinity and fps TANK BIG TIME to almost a slide show.

DAVE BAUMANN is quad fire/tri fire with eyefinity problems a know issue???? and are they being addressed????

Because I for sure want to know if I will be able to use the hardware I have purchased for the purpose I purchased it for, ie: 5970+5870 tri-fi eyefinity!!!!
