5x1P is horrible ... tearing all over the middle monitors. Switchting the outputs doens't help. I get a vertical line that flows over the screens :(

I wouldn't recommend this setup..

Well did you try forcing V-Synch, or forcing Triple Buffer with D3DOverride?

Another thing that may be an issue is the use of different outputs (on the 5870 E6 card, there are only MiniDP outputs.). But I'm interested in seeing how it turns out with the above fixes.

I will try this today and keep you updated. The 6950 lacks power for 6250x1920 but at a lower resolution it still looks awesome over 5 screens. If I could just correct the lines it would be awesome.

How'd it go?

Just saw this picture and thought it was a good 2D representation of 5x1.

Is it just me or isn't something odd going on with the outside displays? It seems like someone Photoshopped that and non-proportionally stretched the outer displays to better show content in the picture.

Yes and know, I know there's a lot less stretching in 5x1P, but I have to agree, the monitor itself looks odd.

Well I got my 5x1P setup with 5 x HP ZR24W IPS panels (great LCDs for the price) driven by an Asus 6950 DCII (the triple slot monster).

I do see the vertical tearing from time to time but tbh I don't notice it that much and the awesomeness of gaming across 5 screens more than makes up for it. It runs my main games (Bad Company 2 and M&B: Warband) very well. BC2 can go all high in DX9 and runs well (60+ fps generally).

My main concern is that the setup only works with the 10.12a hotfix driver. Any idea if AMD will add this to future monthly drivers or at least add it to new drivers once in a while say quarterly?

Yep, that's been my concern too. They claim 5x1P is fully functional but how can that be if only 10.12a is the driver option?

I have the 5870 Eyefitiy 6 card. What exactly do I need to make this work in 5x1 portrait?

It's sad I've had this setup for this long and their is no current support for 5x1!!!!!

Thanks for the help!

The driver has been around for 6 months. It is the Catalyst 10.12a hotfix driver. You can install that (select driver only) and the catalyst software from newer drivers if you wish.

The only issue I have is that so far this is the only driver release so far which supports 5x1. They better release an updated one soon otherwise there is a risk we'll be left behind when new games come out needing optimisation.
