Rig = 3570k, ASRock Z77 Fatality Professional, 32gig GSkill, Crossfire 7970s (Asus DCU2 + Asus Reference), Corsair 1kw, 3 x Dell U2412M

Been having major issues with my new rig. I have sorted all of the problems when using a single monitor. No crashes, everything works as intended. Games run incredibly smoothly with Crossfire enabled.

Eyefinity however does not work well at all. Everything i play runs like absolute crap when i have Crossfire enabled. Whether i have Vsync enabled or not i get major tearing even on intro videos for games. Everything feels like its running far less than half of what Fraps/Afterburner is telling me. When i enable Vsync games cap themselves at 120fps? If i can achieve the 120fps everything mostly feels like its running smoothly, pretty much have to drop everything to low to do this though. If it drops down to 60 it feels like im getting more like 20fps... Its really jerky and unusable really. I can actually get a smoother experience on triple screens with my old old SLI GTX460s...

I've googled the problem and see other people on other hardware have suffered from the same problem but haven't come across any fixes yet. Has anyone suffered from the same issues or know what's going on?

In the past i had 1 hd7970 running on 3 24'' monitors and i also had manny problems with fps drop with a couple of games. (call of duty MW3, Kane and Lynch 2, Syndicate) so I contacted the service desk of AMD but they couldn't really help me. The problem i got with the card was that i had FPS drop. And i think its because of the bad drivers from AMD so i returned the card and got back to nvidia and i don't have anny problems with nvidia surround.

Maby your card is bad ( manufacturing defect) or maby you have to wait for new drivers. Try to contact AMD maby they have a solution.
Try this forum to explain your problem maby they can help.

Good luck!

I used to use dual 5970's about a year and a half ago and finally gave them away due to the same issues with vsync and eyefinity. i used 3 identical 60hz monitors and it always tried to cap the framerate at 120 instead of 60 which just ment lots of screen tearing issues.
I also tried dual 5870's and a mix of the 2 and still had the same issues. I surprised that ati hasnt bothered to fix it after all this time as it was a release day bug with eyefinity.
This might help, but cant say as i went back to nvidia so cant test it
