Hey Throttleup thanks for the tips on FSX ... been hanging to get back into it ... just checked Air Haulers Pilot portal ... TAS-AIR is still on top but there catching up on me ... lol

With the adaptor I went with Sapphires active DP/VGA ... this one does not require a USB port for power ... and every thing has work perfectly straight out of the box ... since the 10.2 drivers.

What philips monitor do you have?
I'd get crazy to have 2 monitors and then a 3rd one with a different screen / color / bezel / size / etc..
If I were you I'd try to sell your 2 current monitors and buy 3x 1680x1050 monitors (http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-VW225D-display-widescreen-dynamic/dp/B001P696NK/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281439154&sr=8-2), those monitors seem to be pretty good bang for the buck.

Yea I know what you mean but I will wait for the next generation of monitors before getting three new matched ones. They will for sure have thinner bezels, be slimmer and look better than what we have now.

The Dell monitor I ordered has physical dimensions that are 99.9% common with my Philips screens and it is also black in color (like the Philips). So far so good....well I hope! Lets see what it looks like when it arrives. If not good I got 7 days to return it as per distance selling regulations.

I highly advise that you get the DP->VGA passive adapter and, after that, if you're not satisfied with the IQ, THEN attempt the ACTIVE adapters. There are just too many reported issues with the active adapters to warrant trying them first. At least I (and many, many others!) were able to get our money back on the faulty active adapters. AND, in spite of what you're reading from others, there is almost NO noticeable difference in IQ between the two.

Good luck, though, on whichever course you take.

If you did get the 3x1920(1080), and found out your 5850 struggles powering them, you could always drop the rez down to something smaller no ?

Edit : stupid question

I'm running 3x1980x1080 with 5850 and I don't really have performance issues with 90% games I play. Mafia 2 demo run very nice on my rig (with PhysX disabled of course).
