I installed Empathy: Path of Whispers. Of course, as always, it's zoomed in vert-. I added the YFOV trick but the FOV slider is not wide enough, so the minimum fov in the menu is still too high and I see the 'instrument' on screen even when it's not equipped. I tried putting FOV values in the .ini file but it doesn't work.

I would like to learn fixing FOV with cheat engine (I tried with the hex editor I don't find the right address), I tried to look for a float value equal to the FOV used (right now should be 80 with YFOV), but nothing worked. Can someone help? My target is to learn to do this from scratch so if a game has the same problem, I am able to fix it (I play many indie games that are not featured on WSGF).

For all UE4 games you can easily find FOV multiplier value.
Uncheck "Writable" and scan following "Float" values:
0.0087266
0.002777778
You will find a very few values and one of them will be FOV multiplier value.

Or in Hex editor look for:

0.0087266 --> 35 FA 0E 3C
0.002777778 --> 61 0B 36 3B

Works also sometimes for UE3 Games.
