I seen simillar topic on this forum from 2005 but since i didn't found answer there plus it is a necro thread i decided to ask here.
So I am currently running syncmaster 943N, it is a 1280x1024 monitor.
I have problem with some new games but not all of them.
Since thief and tomb raider support my resolution i do not have black bars.
But when i try to run dragon dogma from 1/3 to 1/2 of my screen is black bars.
I like it but this is frustrating.
I remember i have simillar issue with Assasin creed but i found solution here.

So i am sorry if i posted in wrong section.
Thanks in advance.
Have a nice day,
Mike

It's going to be game-specific. Many modern titles are forced to a 16:9 anamorphic aspect, which is putting up the black bars.

Agnostic Dragon fixes support for wider aspect ratios. I don't know whether it also removes letterboxing for narrower aspect ratios (I don't have this game to test) but you could certainly give it a go to see if it has that result. Apart from that there isn't much you can do since this sort of change requires a game-specific fix.
