Here we go again. Game's been out for weeks, sold millions, and nobody bothered to start a thread or anything.

What's the widescreen support?

Fine for single monitor. Dopefishs' Widescreen Fixer for multi-monitor. IS there no DR for it, yet? If no, I guess I'll make on up once my god damned monitor stand gets here.

when you say "fine" for Single, you mean Hor+ Native?

I only messed with it for a few seconds, and at least at the first person menu screen

(where you can look around)

changing the aspect from 4:3 to 16:10 actually gave no more FOV.

Is that because at 4:3 the hFOV is too high and everything is squished on the sides?

Well i checked it out quickly when i played SP for a whole hour or so, and yes, it was HOR+.

MP is also HOR+, and changing from 16:10 to 4:3 gives a larger FOV, both horizontal and vertical. Remember that there's also a FOV slider in the graphics options. I haven't measure its' range, but it doesn't seem too broad. But it's nice in that it doesn't alter the view of your hands and weapon.

But surely there are some initial comparison shots close to the original release date...

I see what was happening now.

When left to "auto" under aspect ratio setting

the game would still use 16:10 even when I had it set to 4:3 resolutions.

but manually adjusting the aspect ratio setting in accordance with choosing 4:3 or 16:10 resolutions, the game was Hor+

where are you seeing an FOV slider, though? I don't see one

Setting - Graphics

"Field of View" at the very bottom, under Brightness. You can also adjust it in the config_mp.cfg. Not sure if you can go further than what the in-game options allow. I use 16:10 and my slider is at about half.

maybe it's only an option in MP?

absolutely not there in SP options

edit: yes only in MP

however, I tried sliding it from naught to full and there was no difference...

So it is. Weird. And silly.

There's a "seta cg_fov_default "65" line in the config.ini located in Steamsteamappscommoncall of duty black opsplayers. Maybe it'll be kind enough to let you alter that. Keep in mind that value of 65 is my default 4:3. I only played SP on a "different" copy for that hour, then bought a Steam copy and starting playing MP.

Oh, it adjusts FOV just fine in MP, just doesn't change the view on your weapon. Very odd that it's not in single player. Have you tried the config file anyways?
