Hey guys,
just bought Moto Racer 2 rerelease from a certain online vendor, all working with Win7 x64 and stuff. I was pretty happy.
That is, until it turned out they didn't fix the resolutions. And so, alas, the biggest available is 1024x768. Not much of a resolution, considering my native is 1680x1050. Naturally, that's what I'd like to play my shiny new MR2 at. So I decided to learn this fancy hex editing. Opened up a hex program, loaded 'moto.exe', found out the hex values that I needed and searched for them. Found some, changed them... To no avail.
It seems that no matter what I do, nothing changes (well, once I made a resolution disappear from the ingame rez list but that's it o.O).
Currently my method has been:
1) I choose to change 1024x768 to 1680x1050
2) I find 00 04 (1024)
3) I look around for 00 03 (768)
4) If it's there, I change both to 90 06 and 1A 04
5) I continue until I run out of lines.
6) I save and check.
The problem with this is, there are probably about 500 '00 04' hex values in the .exe and checking them all hurts my eyes. And it doesn't even work in the end! Is there some way to check for BOTH the width and height at the same time? What am I doing wrong? Was someone more successful in finding the values than me?
Please help, I'd really like to play this game at widescreen :)
Cheers.
