Taken from the Dark Sector DR thread:
Anyway, I was actually revisiting this thread just to mention that I purchased the recently ported Ninja Blade from Gamersgate. It's developed by ND Games who did Dark Sector as well.

I'm happy to say that this port is very well done in comparison to DS. Lots more graphic options, an in-game fps counter, ability to toggle a locked framerate, shadows, anti-aliasing, vertical sync etc. No stretching issues either, widescreen resolutions appear to be fully supported.

Game is very fun as well, I'd recommend it to anyone who likes hack n slash games.
Sorry to disagree: Ninja Blade is a terrible port that stutters like hell no matter what, has only Low or Average settings - and keeps telling me not to turn off my "console".
Game is also anamorphic and very picky about available resolutions. The terminal flaw however remains the constant hiccups that carry on from menu to cinematic to actual gameplay. Totally ruins the experience.

I don't care who's supposed to have ported this one, all PC users should avoid ND Games, let alone widescreen gamers. :nudgenudge

If stutter is the main issue it could just be very sensitive to fragmentation, or if you got it on Steam it could be very sensitive about the Steam overlay (I know there are some games that are, like Jade Empire).

So maybe defrag and turn off the Steam overlay?

I only say this because if someone had a great experience with it then it should be possible for everyone.

Non-Steam version. And I'm a defraggin' biatch (really). The stuttering issue is all over the web, and as severe as it is it's not the only problem with this port anyway.

I dare you dude, get this game and DR it! :P

That game runs pretty well for me. No stuttering or FPS drops. As far as ports go.. it's average. I jsut don't like the constant gameplpay-breaking quicktime events. i HATE those with a passion. It;'s the reason i stopped playing Fahrenheit.

Okay guys, thanks for your input. I experienced the very same hiccups in a couple other cheap console ports on my other PC. Turns out disconnecting the USB mouse and keyboard and playing with a 360 gamepad fixed it. That's a lame solution to a shameful issue, but still, kind of a relief. I can live with NB's anamorphism and QTEs if the game does not pause every few seconds anymore.

Anyway, keep steering clear of all ND games. Except Pirate Hunter, 'cos this Far Clone might be the closest thing to White Gold/Xenius 2 (aka "Boiling Point strikes back") to ever reach the western world - if it does.
