Post subject:  World of Warcraft Scaling Resoutions

I play world of warcraft. I had a 27 inch 1920x1200 monitor until yesterday when I got a 30 inch 2560x1600 monitor. I was excited, plugged it up, got it going then I noticed that my game looked the same. I did not gain any real estate. So I changed my resolution down to 1920x1200 and was amazed to see that it was exactly the same just a little fuzier than 2560x1600. Anyone know why im not gaining realestate? I gain PLENTY on my desktop, just not in game. I cant see any wider, my and dont gain any extra room for mods on the screen.

Are you talking about the interface or the 3d elements?

If the interface (the default, not necessarily any mods) is smaller at the higher resolution, but the 3d elements are the same size (like your character) then that's normal. You'll see that in any 3d game you play.

If the interface is the same size as before, then there may be a problem. Can you post comparison screenshots?

No matter what resolution your at the interface is always the same size. However, there is a UI scale option. But if you tweak that option it still looks the same at all resolutions. What would be the benefit of high res gaming if your not gaining anything?

Both 1920x1200 and 2560x160 are both 16:10 aspect ratios. You aren't going to get a wider FOV with a wider res. You can scale the UI to be smaller, so you can fit more mods.

WotLK should bring Hor+ support. Check [url=http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/7156#comment-146708]this thread. Couple that with Faux TH2Go (check my sig), and you can get a wider FOV once WotLK launches.
