hi everybody!
i recentely reinstalled etherlords 2 and found out it only natively supports 800x600 and 1024x768 resolutions :( nowadays i use 19" widescreen samsung 931-BW with 1440x900 native resolution and i'd rather play it in widescreen.
in the game folder i found settings.ini and simply changing the res manually to 1440x900 worked like a charm, EXCEPT that interface is now in the middle of a screen (where it would be if the res was 1024x768), exactly where my character is standing during the duels :(
unfortunately i don't have any screenshots, because it's not my computer.

i was wandering if anyone can/know how/want to help me. all i want is to move the interface bar down so it wouldn't be in a middle of the screen.

thanks

Please post screenies as soon as you can !

FYI Etherlords 2 was developped by Nival before Heroes of Might and Magic 5, which stretches in ws and has not been fixed/hacked for better support since its release... so maybe your interface problem won't be easily fixed either... :?:

What a shame, the game looks great in a higher resolution, wish someone would mod the hud to stretch somehow..

Hey, i hope replying to such an old thread wont get me banned. Anyway i wanna say i've been working on the fix to the Etherlord's 2 interface some time ago, unfortunately i was able to move only the non-interactive parts of it, you can see the result in here:
https://www.gipat.ru/forum/index.php?ac ... ost&id=867
https://www.gipat.ru/forum/index.php?ac ... ost&id=864
https://www.gipat.ru/forum/index.php?ac ... ost&id=869
(the patch would NOT affect the game's language)
(The game supports 800x600 and 1024x768 and my patch was intended to chage it into 1366x768 and 1920x1080) (later on i realized the first res would be better changed to 1280x720)

The Main menu itself is actually working as intended, though i cant move the buttons horizontaly which means that in the full hd res they would be placed too far to the left. The UI for the adventure and battle modes were a different story. I didnt find any trace of the interactive stuff which leads me into thinking that those variables are hidden inside the .exe file. Im not much of a hacker though soooo... yeah the project got stuck.

Either way i felt like dropping this piece of info in here. If anyone feels like helping out with extracting interface variables out of their place then please contact me and we'll create a proper Etherlords 2 Widescreen pack ;)

Finally there is a fix for higher resolutions. Use dgVoodoo2: http://dege.freeweb.hu/

Huh? Could you please explain how to do that? Im totally lost and dont know how to use that. I copied all the dll files and the exe of dgvoodoo2 into the Etherlords 2 main game folder and it simply doesnt do anything. Apart from breaking the launching sometimes depending on whether or not will i enable directx or not. The notification says "cant enumerate direct draw distance" or will work normally but without any change in resolution.

Hello, I copied the following files to the game directory:

dgVoodooSetup.exe
DDraw.dll
D3DImm.dll
D3D8.dll

I've attached Screenshots for my configuration:

Should work on English version (GOG.com v.1.03)
Not sure about other language game versions.

Oh my god, this is amazing! This might be just what we needed to create a true widescreen fix for this game! I'll look into the texture files to try more changes.

@edit
Its possible the main menus will stay the way they are right now, squeezed into the upper left corner, but everything else looks and works great. Kudos to you, jackfuste, :onethumb:
