Hi folks. I know I haven't been real active here lately, but I'm still fighting for the cause! One quirk of wsgf that has bugged me is listing games as having native widescreen support...but they don't support my widescreen natively (1280x720). Obviously in this case I'm talking about EQ2, which needed an ini hack for 720p, but there are a few others (medieval 2). The latest EQ2 patch (GU39) broke the ini hack for EQ2. I made some noise and somehow got the attention of the development team who explained it was broken fixing another problem (an A-class bug). They promised to hotfix it, and add 720p as a supported video option, so now it will actually be native support for 720p :) Also, they will be adding a new switch to the ini for video hackers to support those crazy matrox setups. Another victory for widescreen gaming! Kudos to the EQ2 dev team for being responsive under duress (San Diego fires and gold master crunch for the new expansion) for something that affects a minority of customers, albeit fairly severely (1024x768 on a 61" DLP is nasty). |

Is it possible that you do/did not have the right drivers installed for your monitor? On my system, EQ2 lists and supports every resolution supported by the video card and monitor. |
