Forgive me guys, I wasn't sure where to post this. This exerpt was taking from http://www.techpowerup.com Lenovo Launches 22-inch WUXGA ThinkVision L220x Lenovo launched today what it claims to be the industry's first 22-inch widescreen WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra eXtended Graphics Array) monitor with 1920 x 1200 resolution. Sorry, I don't know if the specs. are decent, I was more impressed with the fact that it is a 22" with 1920x1200 resolution. I personally don't care for the huge displays that are out now, so something smaller like this that can output higher res. is just great. |

So, same price as the 23-24in current models with 2in cut off? I fail to see the attraction. And also, 15.4in laptops have had that res. for a while. Oh and according to a chart I saw once (can't find the link atm :( ) your eyes would need to be at about 2.5feet from the screen for you to tell the difference for such a res. At that price I say save a couple months more and get a 32-37in lcd tv. Lower res. maybe, but darn better seating options to use it. |

You are very right. I've been waiting for LCD widescreens to have 1920x1200 res. on the smaller units for awhile now. I never understood how a CRT could reach that, yet a 20inch. LCD couldn't. I'm very finiky about that stuff. Given, the company claims it's the first model to run at such resolution, I can see where the high price comes to play. I don't even think Lenovo is a top notch panel maker to begin with. However, I do see the door opening up for other manufactures to produce such units with comparable resolutions. Ah hell, I'm just bitter because a 24inch display doesn't fit on my desktop the proper way. I envy you guys! |

I agree with Mesh, if it was the same price as a 24" why would you go for the smaller one? If it was significanlty cheaper it would be worth considering. |

Just like 1080p native res. plasma panels it's not because it can't be done, it's because manufacturer's don't put it in production. I've had a 23in with 1920x1200 since 2004, plenty of time to 'tweak' it's panel to market more mainstream 20-22in models. It's also the same why we have color from heck 6-bit panels everywhere. With nothing of course to force makers to list it up-front when you buy one. I found out with a Samsung 941BW. It's got near-0 view angles, major backlit problems and very visible 6-bit dithering. And it's claimed 5ms response time doesn't show any improvement over the 8ms and 16ms I have next to it. mxandrews1, I'm curious what's keeping you from fitting a 24in or larger? is there a shelf in the way or what? heck take a sledge hammer if you must but make some room and get a 40+ tv/monitor, you won't regret it :). |
