Guys

I've searched the forum and found a few different posts , none of which seem to be complete and some linking to another website with information it doesnt' state is an either do this or a do it as well as the info on this site.

Also none specifically are configured for 1920 x 1200 which is the res of my Dell 24"

I wondered if anybody could write a simple idiots guide to exactly what you need to do to run Call of Duty / United Offensive in 1920x1200 res.

Just a bit noobish on issues of this nature and don't want to screw anything up.

Hi there ...
Did you see my post here ... ?
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/node/5577

Where I said ...

Run the game once ... then ... edit or add these lines in config.cfg for the original Call of Duty and uoconfig.cfg for United Offensive

These cfg files will be found in the Call of DutyMain folder and the Call of Dutyuo folder.

seta cg_fov "115" Set this to whaterver looks best for your widescreen resolution.
seta r_customheight "800" Set this to whatever res you want.
seta r_customwidth "1280" Set this to whatever res you want.

seta r_mode "-1"

So ...
Run the game once ... This is so that the game makes the cfg files that you need to edit.
Then find these files ... config.cfg for the original Call of Duty and uoconfig.cfg for United Offensive.
These cfg files will be found in the Call of DutyMain folder and the Call of Dutyuo folder.
Now ... edit the cfg files using Notepad or Wordpad.
The bits in BOLD are the figures/entries you should have in your cfg files ... edit similar lines that are allready there or add the lines if they are not.

In your case just change the number for the ... seta r_customheight ... and ... seta r_customwidth ... to ...
seta r_customheight "1200"
seta r_customwidth "1920"

The FOV is probably best at 110 ... so ...
seta cg_fov "110"

Don't forget to change this line too ...
seta r_mode "-1"

If you still can't work it out ... please tell me more specifically which bit you are confused about and I'll do my best to help you further ... :D

I'm not sure what that could be ... double check things ... :?

Like ...
are you sure you have the resolution for the customheight and customwidth the correct way round ?

or the -1 in the seta r_mode is actually a minus ...

Does the game work if you put the config back to 4x3 ?
... may be you accidentally deleted a line.

I hope this helps ... :)
