I was wondering how I can play Silent Hill 4 at 1680x1050... the highest resolution I can do now is 400x300 with black bars on the side which I can't stand. I have a 6800 GT and Dell 2005FP 20" widescreen with 72.20 drivers. |

You will need to add some custom resolutions in the NV control panel to be able to select the rest of them. eg. 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024. |

To unlock other resolutions You have to rename file CheckSpec.dll (located in Your Silent Hill 4 game directory) to something like CheckSpecdll.bak. Then just run the game and set any resolution You want but I am affraid that the highest resolution You will be able to choose is 1024x768. But it is better than nothing I suppose. If anybody finds out how to run this great game in widescreen or nonscretch mode write a reply please. |
