So I recently installed the game FreeLancer, which I see automatically puts black bars on the side to make it a normal resolution, and that's fine and all. However, now those black bars appear whenever I'm playing other games, and I don't want that (I got used to them stretched). I don't even know if FreeLancer caused this. I tried uninstalling it and the other games were still changed. I'd like to get those games to be normal(stretched) again. Any help?

um i actually did the reverse and got the black bars so my resolution wasnt so badly stretched. i dont know how to solve it if you have an nVidia card, but if you have an ATI card then you can follow these instructions:

1. look in your system tray (bottom right corner) for the ati logo
2. right click and select the Catalyst Control Center option.
3. on the set of menus on the left hand side, click on "Monitor Properties" (Mine said Notebook Panel properties so it could be that.
4. click on the button for "Scale Image - Maintain Aspect Ratio"
5. ????
6. Profit!

like i said if u have nvidia i cant really help but there should be an option along those lines in nvidia's settings
