If you move the slider what available res options do you have ?
There are usually quite a few.
Is there only 1440x900 ?

There is a few 4x3 resolutions in there ... 400 x 300 ... 800 x 600 ... 1024 x 768 ... 1152 x 864
Give one of these a try in your shortcut target.

You don't need to set it in the Nvidia Screen resolutions and refresh rates ... just try it for the game.

There would be no harm in trying the others too ... just to see if it is only 1440x900 that has the problem or not.

Very strange that 4x3 resolutions don't work ... :?
If the game won't run 4x3 resolutions is suggests that the game has a problem and it is nothing to do with your monitor ... especially as other games are working now.

I know it is a bit of a pain but do you still have your old monitor to re-try ?

If the game does work with the old monitor then you could be pretty sure that it is the game that has a problem with the new monitor.
If you go back to the old monitor and the game still doesn't work then you will know that something specific (a game setting change) to the game has changed to stop it working.

Well. I give up. This is what EA had to say to the whole matter.:

"Unfortunantly, many games do not support the widescreen format. Our games are only tested on normal CRT monitors.

If you wish to exchange your games for a sealed copy for a refund, kindly contact the dutch office for return procedures."

I think i'll take that refund..

[quote]uble check ... I'll then try it on mine if you like ... 8)

This is what i did

"C:GamezBattlefield 2BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

Is that correct?

I am having the same problem you are. I tried using that path and it said that the path was not valid :-/

It won't be valid for you unless you installed the game in the same place as Ricepuppet.

Most people install to C:Program Files ... not ... C:Gamez

Use your own path to wherever the game was installed but add this bit on the end ...

+menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

note there is a space at the start of this.

It should be something like this ...

"C:Program FilesEA GAMESBattlefield 2BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

Still goes boom. Where would I go to adjust the antialiasing you were talking about earlier?

It depends on your graphics card ... what's yours ?

2xQ AA usually doesn't make the game junk out it just gives corrupt graphics ...

Did you try the fix here ? ... the post by Kaspre ... it is the second post ...

Anyway ...
To find the AA settings for Nvidia cards ... right click the Desktop ... click Nvidia Display ... click the fly out menu (it should have the name of your monitor in my case Dell 2405FPW)
This opens up the Nvidia settings window ... choose the option ... Performance & Quality Settings
You will see the you can have different profiles for different games ... you will need the Profile for Battlefield 2
The Antialiasing settings are at the top of the list of settings ... set it to Application Controlled.

I don't know how you would change them for ATI cards ... but I would imagine it would be similar to the Nvidia.
