Now correct me if I'm wrong, but if we could get a decent FOV fix would this game not be in true widescreen?

100th post for teh topic :)

Me thinks Racer_S will make a nice tool for this just like he did with Most Wanted. It's just a matter of time. :)

Anyone else think this game is a lot laggier than MW?
I could set everything to high in most wanted without any lag at all, but carbon is practically unplayable.

Anyone know any tweaks to get better FPS?

I also totally agree that carbon has serious issues with framerate drops..
I have tried to test out different eye candy configurations but the highest
I get is 40-45 FPS..but it drops frequently down to 20-15 and up to max 40-45 FPS..
that is just terrible to play on...It really makes your eyes hurt..

Fix works great! Thanks for all the tips. Game is fun, but is it me or is every iteration of NFS getting more and more "shiny". I got everything cranked at max running at 1680 x 1050 and still the in game characters look really bad (specially the first lady, the leader of the 21sts). Otherwise everything else looks good (again - really really really shiny).

I like the whole territory thing.. Reminds me of Just Cause, but instead of taking over villages, I'm winning races

laggy gfx here too. got a 7600GT and MW would tun smooth on high but now its all disaster

anyway got it working on 1680*1050 but i need to put shader on low to get decent framerate. And with shader on low i feel like playing Test drive 1 on my ancient 386sx :P

ANYONE managed to run it on a WD res below 1440x900 ?

Like 1280x768 (or 720) ?

Yeah I get fps drops too - its very annoying.

I play at 1680X1050 with all at max with 2XAA, motion blur off, and get most of the time an fps of 30+, but sometimes it suddenly drops to 10-20 for a second and cause a lag and then goes up again.

This game is one of the most unoptimsed games ever ]=, the graphics are not so good compared to how it runs, I heard ATI cards perform a holee lottt better then nvidia cards.

this game is simply not optimised. It doesn't look so good to as so much resource. Not talking about every time look to be made of plastic/latex combo :p Make you regret the old day of NFS (I want a new NFS PU !)

I have a Core 2 Duo E6600 running at 3Ghz, 2Gb PC6400 Ram and a 7600GT (got it while waiting new DX10 card) I can run it at max at 1280x1024, but can't at 1680x1050.

Game will bug at 1440x900 and at 1280x768, it reset at 1280x1024, but it's not stretched (vert-)

I think we should e-mail EA complaining about this lack of widescreen support. Can't they see that PC users are moving to LCD and plasma displays and most big screens have widescreen resolutions???

Let's all do that! E-mail EA and tell them what they can't see.

Daniel

You aren't serious right?
I suggest you read all the old threads about the BF2 widescreen support e-mail actions and stuff.
You'll notice EA doesn't give a flying monkey about their customers aslong as they get their money.
E-mail actions to EA are a total waste of your time. :(
