could just be your rig?
7100 GS is a POS after all and all of those games are pretty recent

you have installed all the relevant drivers, including the graphics drivers, AFTER removing the graphics drivers of your previous card, right?

Also, the 7100GS is hardly a good card, just so that you know.

can you install a program called FRAPS and use it to see how high the frame rate per second is in each game?

Sorry, buddy. It's your video card.

Even if you have oodles of RAM and a sweet CPU, a lousy video card will always keep them back.

Every time i build a computer the video card is ALWAYS the most expensive part. By hundereds of dollars.

If you can swing it, suck it up and drop a couple hundered on something with some muscle.

I automatically think of an 8800gts 512mb.

Yes, it's the one i have but it's a fair price/performance ratio...

Though it'd help if we heard your budget.

a budget would be good.
Although for those sort of games i wouldnt go any lower than a top spec 7 series or mid range 8 series.
eg. geforce 7950 - geforce 8600 minimum
Ideal would be something current of course.
Them 9600GT's are around £110 nowadays which aint bad at all...

I think the current best bang for buck are the 8800gt / 9600gt depending which you find and where.

You should look for 512mb of video ram, anything over that is overkill and 256mb is severely limited.

8800gts and up more or less scale with price, so depending on budget you might want to get a gts/gtx and ultra (if you've got cash to burn).

If you're not in a hurry though, you may want to wait a couple months for the rest of the 9xxx line from nvidia to come out, and atis reply to it too.
