75 isn't that odd, really. :) Halo uses an FOV of 68, and Deus Ex 2 used (pre 1.2 patch) an FOV of 80, before they lowered it to shift the HUD further out... I think it's 69 or something, now...

Oh, and thanks for pointing out the FOV. :D

I tried changing the fov and anything but 75 makes the screen look strange.

Anyways, finally finished the game. Was a pretty good experience with the exception of MANY MANY HORRIBLE GAME STOPPING BUGS (which I had to cheat to get past).

I've not encountered any bugs that meant I couldn't get further, yet. Although, admittedly, I'm only about half way through. :D

The only thing that really gets on my nerves is the occasional jerk in the gameplay: it'll be smooth as anything, but when you engage in coversation, it suddenly jerks and judders. Very confusing.

I think they lied a bit about the min specs, though: I've got a log, and Bloodlines chewed up 970-odd out of an available 1024MB of RAM, and all of a 2GB pagefile. I'd really hate to play this game on the 'min spec'... 384MB RAM? :shock: I'm wincing just thinking about it. ;)

Also, I think this game was honestly one of the more scary ones I've played. Doom 3 was just dark, it wasn't scary. Well, not after the first zombie dude, anyway... ;)

I cant seem to find the correct FOV either, nothing i try looks right.

Im still trying to figure out this whole widescreen thing ;)

WoW looks freaking amazing though =)

i looked through all the console commands and didnt see anything resembling heightwidth settings...

does anyone know how to change res? the registry really doesnt seem to matter if i change it.

I'm guessing the res's are coded into the .exe, then. Much like NFS:U and NFS:U2. :(

How can one game using an engine have so many WS options, and yet another out at almost the same time (Bloodlines and Half-Life 2 both use the Source Engine, if anyone didn't know that by now... ;) ) can't... :?

any chance of someone doing an .exe hack for this? even 640x480 would be nice. As it is, I get a tiny 4:3 image with redblue .convergence issues

Well it is too bad it doesn't support widescreen (how hard could it have been), but thanks to this thread i am happy with 1600x1200 stretched to a 16:10 display using only fov of 95. I couldn't get the anamorph var to look right. A little bit of tunnel vision but much better than default stretch.

As far as the red/blue convergence issue, are you sure that is not intentional. I see that effect whenever i am looking at text on a computer screen within the game (like a computer i am hacking within the game). I thought that was just to add realism or something. Is the only time you see that effect when you use the pc's within the game?

no...this is common on any game that i run that isnt 640x480 or a widescreen res (856x480, etc). so, since this games resolutions are so limited, i cant use the ones i need to get rid of the problem. the only solution i found was to use -windowed option on the command line when starting the game... then i could have a window almost same size as the screen but its chopped a bit on the sides and bottom and the window is sized by the resolution chosen in-game. so again, its not ideal but at least better than looking at everything like it needs 3-d goggles to look right.

hope someone hacks the exe to allow custom res. :)

If it looks like you need 3D goggles, maybe 'stereo' video has been turned on somewhere?

'Cause I can't honestly think of a reason why there should be that sort of thing happening... :?
