Now Black Ops is released, I want to round up all the information we have on the forum and to guide you to use correct locations for any discussion about Black Ops so hopefully everyone's questions can be answered quickly.

GAMEPLAY
This thread should be used for discussions about the gameplay or news regarding the game generally - not it's widescreen/multi-mon support.

MULTI-MONITOR SUPPORT
For multi-mon support, please use this thread. If you are absolutely sure it's a problem that's only specific to Eyefinity, or Surround, or TH2Go, or SoftTH, or Mview - please use the appropriate forum.

Mach1.9pants showed confirmation that the game suffers the same Aspect Ratio problems as MW2. See here: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=202712#p202712

09/11/2010
FIX : There is currently an Aspect Ratio fix for multi-mon support out by HaYDeN discussed in this thread. You can download it from the WSGF HERE
It is UNKNOWN how VAC will treat this fix - as such USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

10/11/2010
dopefish's WSF has been updated to include Black Ops. Find it at http://www.widescreenfixer.org. You will see 2 plugins: one for single player, and one for multiplayer. Download them both and place the .dll files in the same folder as your Widescreen Fixer.exe.

Same disclaimer again: It is UNKNOWN how VAC will treat this - use AT YOUR OWN RISK

Skid has made a great comparison video showing the difference between multi-monitor support with and without the fix. Check it out!

Known issues when using Widescreen Fixer:

cutscenes will appear off center, to the left [FIXED!][/*:m]

in MP, you may not be able to click some menu items. Try scrolling to them and pressing Enter.[/*:m]

in MP, the screen may change Aspect Ratio/Flicker when initially loading/connecting.[/*:m][/list:u]

dopefish is working on them. There is no need to re-post these issues. If you find another problem you suspect is the fault of WSF, post in the WSF thread

If you want to talk to dopefish about his WidescreenFixer and get updates, please follow his existing thread. You can find his website at http://www.widescreenfixer.org

12/11/10
Thanks to Skid providing his raw video files to the WSGF, Ibrin was able to put together a video showcasing the Widescreen Fixer. Ibrin was able to cut the video and fix some of the timing issues that caused misalignment.

12/11/10
Widescreen Fixer has been updated for Black Ops:

[Game.Call of Duty Black Ops MP] Fixed position of misc. items in Black Ops MP.[/*:m]

[Game.Call of Duty Black Ops SP] Fixed position of misc. items and videos in Black Ops SP.[/*:m][/list:u]

GENERAL WIDESCREEN
If there are other widescreen related issues present even on single screens, please make a new thread with as much detail as you can in the Request/Discuss Game Solutions forum.

AND FINALLY...
Don't create new threads unless the issue is substantially different to problems discussed in the current thread(s).
I'll try to update this thread with information as it arrives.

Thanks :twothumb

Today's Black Ops Patch on 12/15/10 appears to have broken Widescreen Fixer.

Hopefully the gracious developer of Widescreen Fixer will continue to provide his devoted followers support and a fix.

Yeah, I'm not going to be updating this thread every time WSF is updated as it would get lengthy pretty quick.

Make sure you either keep an eye on his website : http://www.widescreenfixer.org and read the Latest Updates, follow his twitter feed, check out the latest posts in this thread, or very simply have "Check for updates" selected within the WSF itself!

He's usually aware of when an update is needed, so just be patient for a few days at most :onethumb
