I made a very quick and simple desktop widget ...
Clicking the widget/image will start the F.E.A.R. 2 demo (assuming it is installed in the default location)
I've not tested in Vista (I use XP) but I think it should work.

Download and use at your own risk ... ALMA.rar
Once it is unzipped just double click the .exe to start it ...
Right click the icon in the system tray to get some options ...

Hide/Show ...
Close ...
Preferences ... gives you some options such as ...
Opacity ...
Hue Shift ...
Start with windows ...
Z-order ... I recommend you set her to Desktop level.
The widget may close when you set preferences ... just start it up again and it will have saved your settings.

You can position her where you like but as the top of her head is cut off it is probably best at the top of your screen ... :P

These screenshots show the actual size of the widget ...
Mouse away ...

Mouse over ...

It can go on any background wallpaper but it best on something dark ...

Using the Hue Shift option to change the colour ...

If people like it ... I can remake it for the full game once it is out.

Enjoy ...

Once again, nice work. :)

I just recently tried your WSGF widget, which is awesome. From someone who keeps NOTHING on his desktop but a wallpaper, you can consider that high praise. ;) :P

Of course it doesn't launch the demo in my Vista64... and I think I'll get rid of that ridiculously short demo soon anyway... but I had to try this out. Amazing.

Tried and put Alma over the WSGF/Giger's Alien wallpaper. Wicked mix

Weird the demo wouldn't run for you on Vista64. I am using Windows 7 64 and both the demo and retail ran. Demo had a strange choppiness, but retail runs like butter.
