If you have problems setting (or seeing the choice for) the proper ordesired resolution, try downloading from the net the free small utility called Reforce.

Might that help?

Would that option work with DVI?
What cards have the 1:1 option because I may be getting a new card soon.

Thanks

nVidia cards have scaling control built in to their drivers (Aspect, Stretch, 1:1)... ATi might do on their newer cards, but I don't like the CCC, so it's out because of that. ;)

Omega's are an option, but I think that the newer Omega's have changed, too... (the Control Panel that the Omega drivers use is customised and actually allows a great deal more control on some of the 'details' than the ATi ones... :))

I'll test the Omega Drivers and see if they have the option, then I'll check back with you guys.

Well, I finally got a new nvidia 6800. Its supports 1:1 stretch and native resolution. I can finally play warcraft III with out streching.

Thank you for returning your experience on this! :D It has been in my thoughts when I have surfed around and not even the 6.2 driver sets could "fix" this for you. Also, I checked with ATI tray tools, NCQ drivers and Omega drivers to see if there were any chances there. Ati should really improve their drivers for widescreen options! Scale to aspect is something they should have implemented a long time ago IMO.

Is the 1:1 mode on the Nvidia card settings dependant on the monitor at all? My Gateway 2185 only supports 1:1 through its OCD with video, not VGA or DVI. My ATI 6800 through the CCC doesn't have the setting unless someone writes a hack. Would a Nvidia card set to 1:1 work despite the monitor not being able to natively support it?

If so, I need a new motherboard with PCIxpress.
