Hi,
I have a bit of a problem, I am currently playing sacred 2
nice game BTW, at first I didn't enjoy it much but then I played it in LAN with my Gf & a friend of mine and I really began to enjoy it
(plus in the mean time I upgraded my gfx card, which allowed me to pump gfx settings ...)

Anyway, the problem is : ascaron-net.com which hosts the official forums is down since several days ...
a whois shows that the domain expired ...
maybe I'm tired or something, but somehow it seems I am unable to find any other information on this subject, so I'm a bit stumped

can anyone shed any light ?

I imagine this was a timed thing. Or maybe no one is around to foot the bill. Deep Silver has the IP IIRC.

yeah I didn't remember all the details of this story so that's why I didn't mention it
but yeah I read an announcement a while back and the forums were supposed to be taken over as well with no modifications ...

hum yeah deepsilver is down too however at least their domain is still functional ....

I remember the news of the shutdown came right as the expansion released, which was amusing. The expansion still has not released at all in the US, as far as I know.

well I read the forums before they went down and I'm not 100% sure that I want the expansion anyway...
According to the general feeling arising from forums (especially knowledgeable people), there's more bugs introduced with it than the latest patched sacred 2 v2.43.

plus there's balancing changes that can make or break a specific build...
on one hand magic improvements were made to a few magic weak classes (which tended to force the user to choose a more "warrior" path before)
on the other hand, improvements to critics from objects don't work anymore with magic combat arts... and you can't read more than 200 runes anymore...
