Nothing new as far as widescreen/surround support is concerned afaik  but Epic's attempt to revive the title is a good reason to play UT3 again ! Official free stuff is good for you :D

Note that you can now register UT3 into Steam (and uninstall your old game) and get the updates that way. You do not HAVE TO though - neither the patch nor the Titan Pack will require you to move to Steam at any time. If you're into online fragging and achievements, well, be my guest.

Been waiting for this one.

I'm anxiously awaiting the update to come in through Steam. Yes, I know you can apply the patch manually, but I'd rather not mess with Steam's auto-update system. ;)

Yeah, I'm actually wondering why this is being released outside Steam at all; I guess Steamworks doesn't require Steam somehow?

If I got it right, the game now comes in two flavors : Steam and achievements, or good ol' DVD and no access to ranked servers. Chances are the community will massively pick the first option. People with a DVD install can turn it to the Steam version at any time, but I'm friggin glad you don't *have* to migrate to Steam to enjoy the patch and Titan Pack, 'cos that's what previews let everybody think.

Help!

I cannot force AA any more using the nVidia control panel OR nhancer. Anyone know how to do this with this patch and the latest nVidia drivers? It's driving me nuts.

Nevermind, I figured it out. There are 2 UT3 profiles, the UT3 one and the Unreal Engine 3 one. Both need to have aa compatibility set to 0x100c5.

Now is this AA using FSAA (the really slow one that renders the whole screen at twice the resolution and downscales it) or is it using MSAA/CSAA?

FSAA is too slow for my enjoyment.

I am downloading as well, kinda fast for here: 270KB/s good as steam ever gets for me.

Has ayone lese noticed that STEAM uses up more of your DL limit than the game/patch should be? For example it used about 6GB for Frontlines when (I think) it said about 4. Is this common with everyone else? One of my clan mates reported the same thing.

Now WhereTF is my proper WS support!

It's downloading slowly because they are also running a free weekend on Steam and everyone is downloading the whole game at once.

Tell your friends... this game deserves more attention, in my opinion, and the new enhancements could make it a belated hit.
