Both good news and bad for those whom hoped they had spec to run it but fall short as I do. It's the only game I know of so far that lists a dual core CPU as minimun requirement. I suspect the same may be true for Ubi's Far Cry 2, as I recall one of the devs saying they are trying to make it single core compatible but not sure if they could.

Thus I will have to wait some time before I can play AC until I build my planned uber rig, which was originally planned to be E6700, 8800GTX, 2GB RAM at the end of '07. Once I heard Intel was planning an integrated shared cache quad CPU and Nvidia a 1 billion transistor GPU, I decided to wait until end of '08.

When I get my Nehalem, 9900GTX rig built System Requirements Lab will bow at my press of their CAN YOU RUN IT? button. 8) http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

Recommended:
C2D 2.2GHz or X2 4400+ (min: Pentium D 2.6GHz or X2 3800+)
1GB XP/2GB Vista
256MB DX10 or DX9 card with SM3.0
8GB of HDD space

I think I'm good to go. Probably not at such a high res, but that's alright. :>

Stranglehold wants dual core min.

System Requirements Lab says I cannot run it but it runs fine. And that is considering how little control I have over the in game graphic options.

Of course I have one of the faster single cores...

But still, if I can supermod Oblivion...

That's true. I remember there were some wacked out requirements out there and my old machine would still run things decently. Hopefully they can make a demo or something? Though the 360 didn't get anything like that anyway. :(

I didn't know Stranglehold wanted dual for minimum, though I remember some chat about it being ridiculously resource hungry. So what's your single core Tanuki and what frame rates do you get?

I just used Sys Req Lab last night for Splinter Cell: Double Agent. It's a game I've not decided if I want to buy yet as it's more stealth and less shooting than their previous titles and a review I read said it chugged even on an X1900XTX (I have an X1950Pro).

I not only passed both min and rec reqs, it said my HyperThreading 3Ghz single core is two cores performance rated at 4.5Ghz, go figure.

Lol, crysis has lower system requirements for recommended than AC

Yeah I was just thinking the same. So many people rag on Crysis because they can't run it max on high res. Now they'll be whining about AC and maybe Far Cry 2.

Yay.
I shoudl be able to run it.

Boo.
It seems like it's not as hot a game as expected.

Buy it? Unlikely - unless I can find a 'legit' Chinese copy from eGay.
