Improving the graphics in Oblivion isn't really what they need to work on. But then, what they really needed to work on has mostly been fixed by the Community, sooo... ;)

...

Anyone care to hazard a guess why on my HTPC in XP, Oblivion gets about two minutes in, then locks up solid, but in Vista x64, it's fine and dandy for nearly an hour (I quit then, 'cause I'd got bored...)?

Oh yeah ... I wasn't suggesting the graphics should improve but it is interesting in that someone would go to all that trouble ...
As a MP map it could be fun ...

I have no clue why your game should be locking up like that ... I haven't had the game installed for a long time now.
UT3 was locking up like that for me if I had OpenAL enabled ... so my guess it could be anything ....

Yeah, it's weird. I've eliminated everything I could think of, including the IR remote/controller, software... the only thing I can think of that I don't have any control over is the ATi drivers.

I seem to vaguely remember Oblivion at absolute maximum settings doing some crazy stuff on some nVidia and ATi drivers a while back... :?
