Just restored a bunch of missing pictures throughout the thread.
Thanks (in part) to Drupal, image widths have been all over the place for a while now. Replacing forums with phpBB3 in the page's URL kinda fixes that, too btw. Still no idea how to restore vertical comparisons to their former glory without image editing. Single-pic comparisons have their merits but they're a bit too much "work" for a fun thread...

Hor+ game but 5:4 and 4:3 enjoy a special Vert+ treatment (1920x1080 vs. 1280x1024).
Main menu is strictly Vert+ (1440x900 vs. 1440x3440).
