I bought one ... whilst it's not in my main machine anymore and I bought it pretty much just for GRAW ... it enhanced it quite a bit and added to my enjoyment of the game ... even if GRAW wasn't the game I was hoping it to be.
No regrets ... don't feel sorry for me I don't feel I wasted my money.

It's all relative and just a point of view ... :D

lol, looking at your sig... ;)

if it adds to the game then how can any of us knock you for getting your monies worth out of it?

i was just puting a sarcastic comment towards it. if more games suported it then it would of been one of the best ways to increase gaming realism. However, the havoc engine and the progress of games (AKA delays) hasnt helped :P

Yeah , i mean as you say it's relative i suppose.

I say this in no way disrespectfully; buying a PhysX card for 100quid or so for you i suppose is a justified amount, but if i bought one, I would have wished I'd put such a sum towards something more substantial.

Saying AW needs quad core is the same as Sony saying MGS 4 needs blueray.
And unless they make two different engines how is the 3 core X360 going to run AW if you really need quad core
In other words; lets just wait till the game is released, speculating about minimum specs is a bit pointless imho.

Oh yeah, a quad core will by no means be the minimum spec, but game designers are getting excited about the possibility of multi-core processors.

There's an interview with Gabe Newell CEO of Valve in this month's PC GAMER(UK) talking about the future Source engine update for multi-core CPUs and he speaks of a 'post-GPU future' soon where we won't be needing Graphics Cards at all, such are the benefits of a multi-core CPU.

its not a server PC. its Q4 2007 mid level gaming PC.

If they wanted to go OTT, why not use ALL dev hardware and an nV Optiplex or whatever it is called...

Intel wanted everyone to cream themselves over the power of kentsfield, it was overclocked because at the time intel were trying to get back into the homes of all the people that had been on A64 for a long time. The game will probibly need a quad core to run in all its glory, the 8800GTX's are standard issue for high end gaming PC's, they are now the price of a X1900XTX about 2 months after launch. You must remember, it was about Intel and MS promoting Quad core + DX10 as it was Remedy promoting Alan Wake.

by the time the game is out the common gamer pc will probibly be quad core anyway, it will also be DX10 as standard.

PS. speculation is fun, theres no point having the internet without having people who want to push boundries :)

Never heard of this game before , but wow it looks f*cking AMAZING.

unfortunately i really doubt my pc will run it as it is intended to look , which is a major bummer. atmospheric games arent the same without the shadows and stuff after all.
