Yeah, so far so good! I like this game. Just played for a little while. Thus far it has been zero issues and it's running really smoothly. I like the lack of loading transitions from say outside to inside (or into dungeon/caves). Graphics are good as well.

I'm enjoying the gameplay as well, though I just got killed by this sea vul...nevermind. :wink:

In fact, I'd go so far to say that aside from the Dark Brotherhood quests, that Shivering Isles was the best bit of Oblivion.

Yeah, I took one look at how much effort FCOM was gonna take, and said, "I can't be bothered."

I might do it at some point in the future, but to be honest it's fairly unlikely that I'll go back to Oblivion again after this play through. I'm trying to do every sidequest, then I'll go and do the storyline.

To be honest, compared to Morrowind, I found the main quest of Oblivion utterly lacking. :(

That would take some doing.

Oblivion is a hack n' slash though, so really compare it more to open world action games like Mercenaries 2 and Grand Theft Auto. Honestly San Andreas is as much an RPG as Oblivion is, and I don't think I'm exaggerating.

Risen is an RPG though... and a good one.

I am upset because I cannot play Risen anymore. It had hidden TAGES DRM on Steam that is not on the american retail version, so I got a refund from Steam so I can buy the retail version with just a disc check.

Of course, now I find zero retail shops stock the game, and even online stores like amazon list it as back ordered. Lovely.
