[i posted this on the thread u linked in the first post... but no point reviving an old thread]

Great thread. You guys have listed some great games. But you've all forgotten probably the greatest pioneering space game -- Wing Commander: PRIVATEER. :D Yes, i'm that old.

It introduced some key features we now see in today's space sims: non-linear open-ended gameplay, character development, great graphics, and an interesting storyline. It's one of those long-lost forgotten masterpieces. Anyone else played it?

1. Master of Orion 1
2. Panzer General Original
3. The Perfect General (QQP)
4. Unreal Tournament
5. Wing Commander 2
6. XCOM:UFO Defense

These games playability was amazing. I havn't seen many games in recent years that can touch the replayability of these titles.

Ow, gheghe, i installed Windows 98 on it and tried Silver. It did work, but it was slooooooooooooooooowwww. So not really playable  . Gameplay was very jaggy and loading took ages.

the reson for this is ram. I see you have a gig. the thing is you have the ram useage by XP(and anything curantly running) then you have the ram used buy VPC it self, then the ram used by 98(and anything running on98), then the game. from what I have found just to run 98 or any other os well. you need a gig. I wuld say to run a game like that you wuld need 2 gig. but I am not shure as I have never tryed to run a game like that. ( I have a old pc set up on a KVM to play my old games)

now on to the games
top 5:
1)Final fantasy (NES)
2)phantasy star 2 (sega gen)
3)skies of arkadia (dremcast & GC)
4)Neverwinter Nights (pc) (even beter in WS)
5)Call of duty 2 (pc) (wider is beter :D )

honorable mentions:
grand turismo (any of them)
any of the cives games
half Life 2
Soldier of Fortune 2
