Just gave the demo a whirl. This is looking to be a really a good game and is fairly well optimized. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get 5.1 audio working on my M-Audio Revo, but in 2.1 it sounds good. The graphics are great even with all but fog volume turned off, though I have details on high.

There's lots of ways to take out foes in this game and the melee animations are very well done. Thanks for the FOV tweak Paddy. I'm using 85 on 16:10 and it's just right. I also disabled DOF blur in the config files because the in game setting only disables motion blur. Can't wait to get the full version of this and use all of B Man's gadets.

Hamill is stellar on the Joker voice over and Batman is,...well, armed and fabulous, with a stunning cape.

It's on Steam for preorder with no additional DRM listed... though that has ended up misleading in the past.

I loved the demo... truly a great looking game, done well on PC, and featuring one of my favorite characters from my youth (thanks to the cartoon).

Batman was one of the favourite characters of my childhood, too... although more because of the old 60's live-action show than the cartoon. :D

I'll wait to see about the DRM. I've been caught before by publishers not being explicit about the DRM system used. Yes, Legendary, I'm looking at you...

Someone pointed out on Bluesnews that Eidos has never used any real kind of DRM... just Steam/Games for Windows... so there is that.

Well I ran into one HUGE complaint regarding the demo. Not the game itself, but with the installer. It seems someone decided to "help" end-users by including AMD's dual-core optimizer and installing it AUTOMATICALLY. Of course, this cocked up my boot.ini file and spawned a hal.dll error when I tried starting my pc this morning. Here's the demo installer opened in 7zip:

It's was bad enough when the Bioshock demo spammed me with SecuROM errors, but rendering my entire system unbootable? Bad form, Eidos.

BTW, thanks to Paddy for the FOV trick, works nicely. I am using 85 on 16:10, which actually works pretty well for 4:3 too. I also found for those whom want ALL the blur turned off vs just the motion blur that the menu setting disables, you can edit the BmEngine and UserEngine ini files to False for DepthOfField.

Also, there's already a skin mod available! A guy on the Eidos Batman forum has posted an all black suit mod, which makes him look more like in the movie vs TV show. I was so anxious to post this I mistakenly first typed Bartman instead of Batman. LOL

Wow, that is awesome! Thanks!

And thanks for the Depth of Field tip... I hate that crap.
