And all is for naught; though you may be the host for a game, it is not direct p2p. IWNet sends you all the packets from the other players, so you are only getting the one connection from IWNet and not each player. Which is why the host has such a major advantage in the game. More fail for IW.

So now I'm waiting on Bad Company 2.


Mmm... i reckon it'd be more fun to make a script that always makes you the host, then another script that creates uber-lag for everyone else and then kill everyone and get 200-0 and then laugh and set your name as "IW.NET SUCKS" or whatever.

That's probably easier than trying to ban 1 person based on their IP.

If you are truly host, kicking players is very easy. All you would need is CommView, a firewall program, and (preferably) another computer with two network cards, so you wouldn't have to alt/tab so much.

1.) Use CommView to get the IP addresses.
2.) Take an IP (any IP you wish).
3.) Add it to your firewall's blocked IP listings.
4.) Raise your firewall level.
5.) (Quickly) See whose ping has dropped significantly.
6.) Keep the firewall in place until they're gone, or if it's the wrong player, back out, note their IP address, and go again.

Simple as that. Assuming it's giving you a straight host and not a run-around.

Ya.. as easy as hitting the Kick button, like in proper MP games.

Against my better judgement, i bought a copy to play CO-OP with a buddy. Though, the more i use the MP/matchmaking system and it's ridiculously retarded, the more i hate it. I cun't believe that THAT is what the console players have been putting up with all these years. I get pissed off at it on a regular basis. "Well that's stupid", "wtf?", heavy sighs, and general loathing now accompany my MW2 playing.

But once the CO-OP actually starts, it's pretty fun. even with the lack of a lean.

And sincere apologies to for comparing retards to MW2. It's not fair to them. MW2 retardation was actually planned. Scary stuff. And with the insane sales figures they're claiming, it worries me for the future of PC gaming. BC2 is looking more and more as what MW2 shoudl have been.


EDIT: sorry, not trying to yoink the topic, i just wanted to bitch.
