Would you consider turning off team damage? I'm finding that area-effect spells are practically useless since my henchmen/creatures usually get caught by the effect. The last time I played I accidentally blasted my group, so Tomi turned against me and nearly killed me with a sneak attack. :shock:

If the server is v1.68 does the version I install be that too? or is it compatible with 1.69 clients?

I've just reinstalled nwn with the 1.68 patch. I can connect to the server just fine. However most of the text in-game is garbled or missing. For example my starting armor is named 88 and the first dialogs in the prelude with the 2 npcs mostly consists of blank text with 'continue' in all choices.

While fetching the patch I noticed that nwn is not compatible/supported under vista. And I did have to switch xp sp2 compatibility to even get it to the multiplayer browser.

Can anything be done or am I out of luck? I'm not reinstalling XP.

I just tried a single player game on the same install. No text or dialog issue, guess the problem is server side?

Try the server now, I've switched it to Chapter 1, if it's a problem with the save or the chapter "Prelude" then this'll fix it, however, if it's a problem with the server it will persist. And I have no problem with NWN in Vista Ultimate, no changes to compatibility mode.

I found the cause, though the why eludes me. I had chosen 'large fonts' since in 1920x1080 the normal text is tiny. Without it server text is fine.

Of course I tried it again after you switched it to chapter 1 so who knows. And it seemed pointless to me, just running round to already killed mobs and empty chests lol.

First enemy I found pretty much killed me 1 hit, I was still level 1.

You want me to reset it again?
